Imam Hussein Zakaria, the Pakyi No.1 Chief Imam of the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region, has called on Muslim youth across the country to be cautious as they complete their Ramadan fasts.
Speaking in an interview after the prayers marking the end of Ramadan at Pakyi No.1 School Park, the Imam warned that any wrong actions or behaviors following the fasting period could undo the blessings they have received from Allah.
Imam Zakaria stressed the importance of remaining vigilant, advising the youth to avoid actions that might block the spiritual rewards of their fasting. He cautioned that even small missteps could negate the good that has been earned, urging the youth to remain focused on maintaining their good conduct and observance of religious duties.
“Your blessings from Allah during Ramadan must not be destroyed by thoughtless actions or behaviors,” Imam Zakaria stated. “It is crucial that you continue to live in peace with one another, exercise patience, and remain dedicated to worshiping Allah at the prescribed times.”
The Chief Imam emphasized the significance of peace and tolerance, urging Muslim youth to avoid fighting or indulging in social vices. He encouraged them to foster unity and patience in all their endeavors, ensuring that the spirit of Ramadan continues to guide their actions even after the holy month has ended.
“Peace is essential, and it must be preserved,” Imam Zakaria continued. “Always strive to be patient, tolerant, and respectful to others in your daily life. Through this, you will continue to attract Allah’s blessings.”
During the event, some Muslim worshippers took the opportunity to appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to appoint Alhaji Musah Osman, a well-known philanthropist and former NDC parliamentary aspirant for Manso Nkwanta, as the next District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie West.
Alhaji Musah Osman has earned praise for his dedication to community development, having supported the needy, the elderly, and vulnerable students by paying school fees. He has also contributed to improving local infrastructure, including using his own resources to repair the deteriorating roads in Pakyi Zongo, among other initiatives.
The group expressed their belief that Alhaji Osman’s contributions to the district over the years make him a deserving candidate for the DCE role, regardless of his past electoral setbacks. They urged the President to recognize his efforts and appoint him to help drive further development in the Amansie West District.
