Parents Laud Bosome Freho MP for Supporting BECE Candidates with Educational Items

Parents and guardians at Nsueam No. 2 in the Bosome Freho Constituency have showered praises on their Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh, for donating 245 trunks, chop boxes, 10 exercise books and 5 note books each to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the community.

The presentation ceremony, which drew traditional leaders, teachers, opinion leaders and residents, marked a significant moment in the constituency’s educational support drive. For many parents, the donation was not only timely but also a major relief, as the high cost of educational supplies continues to weigh heavily on households.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh explained that the gesture was part of a broader initiative to support all 2024/2025 BECE graduates across the constituency as they prepare to transition into senior high schools. He emphasized that education remains his topmost priority as an MP, stressing that it is the only legacy that can empower the youth and transform Bosome Freho.

“This donation is in fulfillment of a promise I made when I asked my people to entrust me with their mandate. Education is the greatest inheritance we can give our children—it cannot be taken away. I want to see Bosome Freho produce professionals like doctors, engineers, nurses, lawyers and teachers who will contribute to Ghana’s development,” he said.

He also used the occasion to encourage the students to remain disciplined and focused on their studies, urging parents and guardians to continue to prioritize the education of their wards. According to him, while farming and mining are important to the local economy, the long-term development of Bosome Freho depends on producing highly educated citizens.

Parents who spoke at the event could not hide their joy and gratitude.

“This is a big relief for us. Many parents were worried about how to purchase these items, but our MP has taken that burden away. We are grateful for his thoughtfulness and generosity,” one parent said.

Teachers and traditional leaders in the community also commended the MP for his foresight, adding that the gesture will motivate students to take their studies more seriously and aim higher. They described the donation as a landmark intervention that would inspire educational growth in Nsueam No. 2 and beyond.

The event ended with an atmosphere of appreciation, as beneficiaries and their families hailed Hon. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh’s commitment to keeping education at the center of his leadership.
