NDC Task Force in Ashanti Region Demands Job Promises from Party Executives

Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) task force in the Ashanti Region have called on President John Dramani Mahama and the party’s national executives to fulfill promises made to them before the 2024 general elections.

During a press conference, the leader of the unemployed task force, Maxwell Hope, expressed frustration over the party’s failure to deliver on its commitments. According to him, the executives assured them of jobs in exchange for their efforts in mobilizing support for the NDC during the elections.

“We worked tirelessly for the party, believing in the promises made to us. Now that the NDC has won convincingly, we find ourselves jobless and neglected. We are calling on President Mahama and the party leadership to honour their word,” Mr. Hope stated.

The task force members, who claim to have played a crucial role in securing victory for the party in various constituencies, say they have been left stranded despite their sacrifices. They lamented that months after the elections, there has been no clear communication from the party leadership regarding their employment status.

“We believed in the leadership of the NDC and trusted that they would not abandon us after the elections. But it seems our contributions are being overlooked,” another member of the task force said.

The unemployed task force members are urging the party to take swift action to provide them with jobs, stressing that their current situation is dire. They warned that failure to honour the promises could lead to disappointment among grassroots supporters who worked diligently for the party’s success.

The NDC leadership has yet to respond to the concerns raised by the task force. However, political analysts believe that such grievances, if not addressed, could affect the party’s relationship with its base in the Ashanti Region, a historically stronghold of the opposition.

The group has vowed to continue pressing for their demands until the party fulfills its commitment.
