Nana Ewi Asamoah II Vows to Prioritize Healthcare, Education, and Youth Development in Behenase

The Gyaasehene of Behenase (formerly known as Boni), under the Denyase Traditional Area in the Amansie enclave, Nana Ewi Asamoah II, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to prioritize healthcare, education, and youth development as the cornerstone of his leadership and community transformation agenda.

He made this solemn pledge during the grand celebration of Akwasidae and his official outdooring ceremony at Behenase, following his recent swearing-in as Gyaasehene of the community. The event attracted a large crowd of traditional leaders, government representatives, clergy, youth groups, and residents who gathered in a colourful display of culture, unity, and support for the newly-installed traditional leader.

In his address, Nana Ewi Asamoah II emphasized that the prosperity and sustainability of every community depend on the health, education, and productivity of its people, especially the youth. He therefore outlined his vision to work closely with stakeholders, development partners, and government agencies to initiate pragmatic policies and programmes that will improve living standards and accelerate progress in Behenase and its surrounding areas.

According to him, quality healthcare remains a topmost priority because a healthy population forms the foundation for sustainable development. He expressed concern about the lack of access to adequate medical facilities and called on benevolent organizations and the government to assist in equipping local health centres and providing essential logistics to serve the growing population.

“I am deeply committed to ensuring that our people have access to quality healthcare. A strong and healthy community is one that can work hard and develop together. I will partner with all relevant agencies to make this dream a reality,” Nana Ewi Asamoah II assured.

Touching on education, the Gyaasehene noted that empowering the youth through education is crucial for long-term community growth. He lamented the high dropout rates and challenges faced by students in rural communities due to inadequate infrastructure and financial constraints. As part of his vision, he pledged to support educational initiatives, mobilize resources to provide learning materials, and encourage parental involvement in children’s education.

“Education is the key that unlocks opportunity. Our young people must be guided, supported, and encouraged to stay in school and pursue excellence. As a leader, I will do everything within my means to promote education in Behenase and beyond,” he stated passionately.

Nana Ewi Asamoah II also reaffirmed his determination to tackle youth unemployment, describing it as one of the major threats to community stability and national progress. He explained that youth empowerment and skill training will form the backbone of his developmental agenda, adding that job creation and entrepreneurial support are vital in curbing social vices and restoring hope among the youth.

“Youth empowerment is not just about giving money; it is about creating lasting opportunities. We must help our young men and women acquire the right skills, start small businesses, and become self-reliant,” he remarked.

He further appealed to the people of Behenase to embrace unity, discipline, and cooperation as key ingredients for development. He noted that no single individual can drive progress without the collective effort of the community, stressing that togetherness and mutual respect must guide every developmental initiative.

The ceremony, graced with traditional drumming, dancing, and cultural displays, symbolized a renewed sense of hope and purpose for the people of Behenase and the Denyase Traditional Area. Elders and residents expressed joy and confidence in the leadership of Nana Ewi Asamoah II, describing him as a visionary chief with the community’s best interest at heart.

In closing, Nana Ewi Asamoah II expressed heartfelt appreciation to the chiefs, elders, and people of Behenase for their continuous support and trust in his leadership. He assured them of his dedication to transparency, inclusiveness, and service to humanity, promising to lead with humility and integrity to make Behenase a model community within the Amansie enclave.
