MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION: PENTECOSTAL CHURCH OF CHRIST WOMEN’S MINISTRY ORGANIZES FREE HEALTH SCREENING FOR MEMBERS

In commemoration of this year’s Mother’s Day, the Women’s Ministry of the Pentecostal Church of Christ has organized a free health screening exercise for mothers, alongside a strong call for women to continue embracing their crucial roles in building strong families and communities.
Speaking at the event, held at the church’s headquarters in Kumasi, Deaconess Mrs. Mary Duah Kusi, National President of the Women’s Fellowship, described mothers as the bedrock of every family.
She emphasized that mothers are entrusted with the sacred responsibility of nurturing their children with love, care, and discipline, laying the foundation for a better and God-fearing society.
According to Mrs. Duah Kusi, the wellbeing and future of society largely depend on the efforts of mothers in raising responsible, morally upright individuals.
She encouraged mothers not to relent in their efforts despite the challenges they may face, noting that their sacrifices are vital to the peace, stability, and development of the nation.
“Mothers are the pillars upon which our homes stand. When mothers rise to their calling with love, wisdom, and patience, families thrive, and by extension, the nation prospers,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Grace Dickson, who also addressed the gathering, underscored the critical role of pastors’ wives in supporting their husbands’ ministries.
She noted that behind every successful man of God is often a supportive and prayerful wife whose commitment strengthens his spiritual journey and leadership.
Mrs. Dickson urged wives of pastors to take an active interest in their husbands’ ministerial work and to serve as role models in their congregations through their conduct, humility, and dedication.
“The journey of ministry is challenging. Pastors’ wives must stand as pillars of encouragement and prayer, helping their husbands fulfill the divine mandate placed upon them,” she advised.
As part of the day’s activities, the Women’s Ministry organized a free health screening exercise for all mothers in attendance.
The initiative was aimed at promoting preventive healthcare among women, many of whom often prioritize the needs of their families over their own wellbeing.
Delivering a health talk during the exercise, Mrs. Patience Twum Barimah, a Senior Nursing Officer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups.
She warned that many lives are lost prematurely due to late diagnosis of health conditions that could have been easily treated if detected early.
Mrs. Barimah advised mothers to make time for periodic medical examinations, stressing that good health is crucial for fulfilling their responsibilities both at home and in society.
“Prioritizing your health is not selfish; it is essential. A healthy mother means a healthy family,” she remarked
The celebration was filled with various activities, including singing, prayers, health education sessions, and moments of thanksgiving, creating an atmosphere of empowerment, hope, and unity.
Hundreds of women from various branches of the church across the region participated in the event, which ended on a joyous note with mothers receiving tokens of appreciation for their immeasurable contributions to society.
The leadership of the Pentecostal Church of Christ expressed gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women spiritually, emotionally, and physically through continuous engagement and support programs.
