Kumawu Student Who Achieved 8 A1s in WASSCE Seeks Funding to Pursue Medicine

Marfo Elvis, a brilliant student from a remote area in the Kumawu district of the Ashanti Region, is reaching out for financial support to pursue a medical degree after achieving an exceptional 8 A1s in the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

This remarkable achievement follows a scholarship he received through the Kofi Adade Assembly Member Scholarship Package, an initiative introduced by Hon. Kofi Adade, former assembly member for the Kumawu Dadease Electoral Area. The scholarship was designed to support outstanding Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates who achieve single-digit scores, offering them an opportunity to pursue secondary education.

Marfo Elvis was one of the fortunate recipients of this scholarship, which enabled him to attend Adisadel College, a prestigious school in Cape Coast. Over the past three years, Elvis has worked diligently, excelling in his studies and culminating in his impressive WASSCE results.

Elvis’s academic success has garnered attention, but despite his exceptional potential, he faces financial challenges in advancing his education. His ultimate goal is to study medicine and give back to his community by contributing to the healthcare system. To make this possible, he and the Kofi Adade Foundation are calling on the government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and individuals to provide the necessary financial assistance to help him achieve his dreams.

“The financial burden of medical school is immense, but I am determined to pursue my passion for medicine and contribute to the well-being of my people,” Marfo Elvis said, expressing his hopes for support in fulfilling his ambitions.

Elvis’s journey is a source of inspiration to many young students from underserved regions, highlighting the importance of education and the potential of bright individuals, even when faced with financial limitations. The Kofi Adade Foundation, which has been instrumental in supporting Elvis’s education, believes that with the right financial backing, he will continue to excel and make a positive impact in the medical field.

A spokesperson for the foundation noted, “Marfo Elvis is an exemplary student who embodies the vision of the Kofi Adade Scholarship Program. He has shown that with dedication and the right opportunities, students from even the most remote areas can achieve extraordinary results. Supporting him to pursue his medical degree is an investment in the future of our healthcare system.”

The Kofi Adade Foundation encourages anyone who is willing to assist Marfo Elvis in achieving his dream to contact them at 0243176589 or 0538842381. Contributions can be made in the form of financial support, mentorship, or other forms of assistance as he takes the next step toward his medical career.

Marfo Elvis’s story is a testament to the power of education and the life-changing impact of scholarship programs. With the right support, he is poised to make a significant contribution to medicine and to his community.
