The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in collaboration with the institute of Local Government (ILGS) and Ministry of Local Government Decentralisation and Rural Development (MLGDRD) have organised a two day workshop for Assembly Members in the metropolis.
The objective of the workshop is to enhance competence of participants for effective performance of their representative, deliberative, legislative, executive and oversight duties as well as obligation.
In the closing remarks, Hon. Samuel Pyne the mayor of Kumasi expressed his gratitude to the participants for attending the workshop in their numbers although the notice was short which he thinks will update their knowledge to execute their duties.
He added that, since local governance is about the bottom up approach, their training is in order so that each and everyone is equipped for the task ahead.
