In a commendable demonstration of community solidarity and commitment to public safety, residents of Ohwim Amanfrom, under the leadership of their Assemblyman, Hon. Paul Arthur, have donated a pick-up vehicle and a motorbike to the Ohwim Amanfrom Police Station. The initiative aims to bolster security operations and enhance crime prevention efforts within the area.

Addressing the handover ceremony, ACP Ishaq Ibrahim, Suame Divisional Commander, expressed profound appreciation to the community for their patriotic gesture. He noted that such support underscores the residents’ dedication to safeguarding lives and ensuring effective law enforcement in their locality.

ACP Ibrahim further charged the police personnel to utilize the donated vehicle and motorbike efficiently, emphasizing that these resources must directly benefit the community and strengthen daily policing activities. He also called on officers to work closely with residents, fostering a strong community-police partnership to curb crime and justify the trust invested in them.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, praised the community for taking proactive steps to support the police. Recognizing the challenge of limited personnel at the station, he assured that efforts would be made to deploy additional police officers to the area to enhance security.

Hon. Ofori Agyemang Boadi also appealed to landlords and landladies to consider reducing rent prices in the community. He highlighted that affordable housing would make it easier to accommodate more police personnel, addressing a key obstacle affecting police deployment in the area.

Hon. Paul Arthur, the Assemblyman for Ohwim Amanfrom electoral area, explained that the donation was motivated by the urgent need to support the police in their daily patrols. Upon consulting with community members, it became evident that the shortage of vehicles was hampering the station’s ability to respond promptly to security concerns. This realization prompted residents to collectively contribute towards purchasing a pick-up vehicle and a motorbike to enhance policing effectiveness.

He reiterated that the donation reflects the community’s shared responsibility in ensuring safety and security and underscores the vital partnership between residents and law enforcement.

The event drew participation from community leaders, residents, and police personnel, all of whom hailed the initiative as a model of community-driven efforts to strengthen security and safeguard lives.
