The Gyaasehemaa of Sabin Akrofrom in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Adutwumwaa Agudee, has urged politicians in Ghana to fulfill their campaign promises once they assume office. She stressed that voters place their trust in political leaders to bring development to their communities and that failing to honor these promises can erode public confidence.
In an exclusive interview with Kessben Media’s Osei Kwaku, Nana Adutwumwaa Agudee expressed her concerns about the stalled Kumasi Central Market project, a major development initiative that remains unfinished under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. According to her, completing the market is critical to the economic well-being of the region, as it would boost commercial activities, create jobs, and support local businesses.
“The market was a key promise by the government, and our people have long awaited its completion. Abandoning such projects only hinders the economic aspirations of the people,” Nana Adutwumwaa remarked. She appealed to the government to prioritize finishing the Kumasi Central Market, which she believes will bring relief to traders and stimulate economic growth in the area.
Nana Adutwumwaa Agudee also used the opportunity to address Ghanaian youth, urging them to refrain from participating in election-related violence. She warned them against being influenced by politicians to engage in destructive activities during elections. Instead, she encouraged young people to focus on securing brighter futures through peaceful and constructive means.
“I implore the youth to think of their future and avoid being drawn into violence by politicians. Ghana’s peace is a shared responsibility, and it is crucial that we all work towards a peaceful electoral process,” she stated.
Her remarks come as Ghanaians prepare for the 2024 elections, underscoring the importance of integrity, accountability, and peace in the political process. Nana Adutwumwaa Agudee’s call serves as a reminder to both politicians and citizens to prioritize the nation’s stability and development.
