The Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) has announced that nominations are open for it’s maiden awards.
The union opened nominations today Thursday, 11th February,2021 for prospective students from member institutions as part of activities towards its 2020/21 Congress.
GUPS is set to organize this year’s Congress on the 19th to the 21st of February at Kessben University College in Kumasi for schools under its umbrella.
The Congress is aimed at electing new executives as well as discuss the union’s milestones and challenges for the previous year and take steps for the subsequent year.
According to Mr. Otuo Acheampong Rabbi the Ag. Coordinating Secretary who also doubles as the Congress Committee Chairman the move was gear towards appreciating and recognizing relentless efforts of professional students and activists in Ghana over the last year.
The categories include GUPS institution of the year, SRC President of the year, External Affairs President of the year, Alumni of the year, Student Entrepreneur of the year, GUPS National Executive of the year, GUPS most discipline National Executive of the year, Student activist of the year.
The rest are, Ghanaian student of the year, most influential professional student of the year, most promising student leader of the year, NEC member of the year, GUPS WOCOM of the year, student Philanthropist of the year and female student activist of the year
Mr. Rabbi urged all students in member institutions to file their nominations because he believes the event is going to be exciting.
