Fix our our bad roads Chiefs and Residents of 6 communities of Bekwai municipality appeal to government and New Road Minister

Chiefs and Residents of the following communities,
Koniyaw, Asokore, Dotom,Aboaso,
Gyasikrom and Edwenase in Bekwai municipality of Ashanti region have appeal to the Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo president of the Republic of Ghana and the Minister Designate for Roads and High ways Hon Francis Asenso Boakye to fix their untarred 11 kilometer roads linking from Asakyiri Nkwanta to Koniyaw.

They claimed successive governments have neglected roads in the area for years, leaving residents of Koniyaw and neighboring communities in despair and making life unbearable for residents.

The appeal was made by odikro of Koniyaw Nana Boamah Kwaning lll, Nana Akwasi Adjei Asakyiri kyidomhene, Nana Gyasi chief of Gyasikrom.

Speaking to media in a news conference, the Chiefs noted that deplorable roads in the area atttributed to unapproved fare charges by drivers miscarriages,robbery attacks, accidents and affected health care delivery.

“We appealed to the government to pay attention to our plea to fix the road before 2024 general elections.

On their part, the Assembly member for Asokore-Koniyaw electoral area, Hon Kennedy Oppong Kyekyeku and his people expressed worry about how the government has neglected them from their share of national cake in terms of road networks and potable drinking water.

He said Over 34 years of creation of Bekwai municipal assembly these communities can only boost of one borehole project which shows that,the government don’t consider their needs in its budget.

They vowed not to welcome any political activities in the electoral area if their road do not see facelift before December 7, general elections.
