FEAR AND PANIC GRIPS RESIDENTS OF BONTEFUFUO AS THEY RECORD FIRST POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE






Tetrem is a industrial community in the Amansie West district of the Ashanti region has recorded its first positive case of the Covid-19 after several suspect cases.





The interim chief of Tetrem Bontefufuo,Nana Poku who confirmed the case to Adwumapa fm reporter,Asare Baffour said the victim is a native of Tetrem Bontefufuo and a worker at Asanko Gold Mines in the Amansie West district of the Ashanti region.And since receiving an alert from the Director of the Asanko Gold Mines Health Service on the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic on May 25, 2020, the Regional Security Council (RESEC) and the Regional Public Health Emergency Management Committee have jointly implemented a range of preventive measures to stop a spread to the community.





Key among these measures is the inter-agency coordination, laboratory testing, case management, social mobilisation, risk communication, and enhanced port surveillance within the district.





According to him, the Regional Health Directorate has begun contact tracing.





Nana Poku urged the residents to stay calm and practice social distancing to prevent community spread.
