Elder Nana Agyei Sikapa, Chief Executive Officer of Elder Sikapa Company Limited at manso Datano, has called on the business community in Manso Datano to take an active role in the development of their locality, urging them to step up and help build their community instead of waiting for the government to do it all.
Speaking today, Elder Nana Agyei Sikapa highlighted his recent personal efforts in improving the infrastructure in the area, noting that he had hired machinery at his own expense to repair the deteriorating road between Datano and Watreso. The road, which had become a major safety hazard for both passengers and drivers, is now safer thanks to his intervention.
However, Elder Sikapa’s efforts go beyond just physical infrastructure. He also used the occasion to voice a pressing concern: the prolonged chieftaincy dispute that has left Manso Datano without a recognized chief for several years. He appealed to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to urgently intervene and help resolve the ongoing conflict, which he believes has severely affected the community’s growth.
“For years, our community has been without a chief, and this has had a negative impact on the lives of the people. The absence of leadership has led to a breakdown in order, and some of our youth are engaging in harmful activities such as drug abuse,” Elder Sikapa remarked. “Moreover, some individuals are selling lands meant for future development, which is detrimental to our progress.”
Elder Sikapa emphasized that the restoration of traditional leadership in the form of a chief is essential for the unity and development of Manso Datano. He believes that a recognized leader would be better positioned to advocate for the community’s needs and steer efforts toward long-term development.

In addition to his appeal for chieftaincy resolution, Elder Sikapa called on local business leaders to join him in taking responsibility for the community’s welfare. He urged them to invest in initiatives that can drive sustainable development, stressing that the collective resources of the business community could have a transformative impact.
“We cannot afford to wait for government action alone. It is time for us, the business community, to step in and help develop our own region,” Elder Sikapa stated. “We must come together and use our resources to create lasting change for the benefit of all.”
Through his actions and appeals, Elder Nana Agyei Sikapa is setting an example for how local leaders and business people can actively contribute to the development of their communities, laying the groundwork for a brighter future for Manso Datano.
