Hon. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, is a leading member of the New Patriotic Party and aspiring mayor for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
The dyed-in-the-wool, New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, is the longest serving Regional Officer of the party in the Ashanti region, since the inception of the 4th republic in 1992.
The immediate past Member of Parliament (MP) for Nhyiaeso constituency in Kumasi, is in his early forties and a young energetic man.
Born at Adiebeba, a suburb of Kumasi, the former Member of Parliament’s select committee on Public Accounts as well as Environment, Science and Technology, is a former student of Prempeh College.
The convener of Aspirants Unite for Victory (AUV), a vociferous campaign wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 elections, holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, Accounting option from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) business school.
Hon. Kwasi Kankam, holds a combined five (5) diplomas in various fields from prestigious institutions in the country and abroad.
Most popular among the above is a diploma in Effective Writing from the renowned Oxford University in the United Kingdom (UK).
The Otumfuo’s Sasamohene Sompahene (illustrious servant) has attended several lecturers, seminar, conferences and symposium both in the country and overseas.
The most significant ones are his lecture at Lowell, Massachuttes City Council and the African students community of the Middlesex Community College, Lowell,
Massachusetts, USA in 2018 as well as lecture political science students at the political science department of Gakushuin University in Japan about politics in Africa using Ghana as a study case.
The Arts and Humanities Council, a UK Research and Innovation group invited him to participate in the ‘Mobilising Global Voices conference 2019: Perspectives from the Global South’ Conference on 27 and 28 February, in London.
Hon. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam’s show of exemplary leadership qualities as a young and enterprising politician has won him a key to the city of Lowell, Massachuttes in the United States of America.

As a teenager, the former MP started his flirtation with the NPP from the polling station level, constituency and regional.
After successfully serving as a polling station executive in the early 2000s, the KMA mayorship race frontrunner, served as a Constituency Deputy Youth Organiser, Constituency Organiser( 4 terms) before occupying the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser and Organiser positions for two terms each.
As a lawmaker and a leader of his constituency, Hon. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, initiated and completed several projects to the benefits of his constituents, famous amongst them is the construction of a fully operational Senior High School (SHS), known as J.A Kufuor SHS, at Sokoban, a suburb of the Nhyiaeso constituency.
The boarding school outfit which has large tract of land for future expansion, now has a student population of 620.
As a member of the University Council of Christian Service University College, Hon. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, has gained enormous experience in appreciating and recognising the impeccable role the academia play in the developmental agenda of the country and by extension, the Kumasi metropolis, and therefore, can be a party to trust when it comes to education in the metropolis.
Through, his own funds, the former MP procured a brand new mini bus for his constituency and a number saloon cars for all the electoral areas in the constituency to provide jobs for them and raise funds for the upkeep of the various electoral areas in the constituency.
As an illustrious son of the Ashanti region, the business tycoon, has established a strong relationship with Manhyia and the Asantehene, Otunfuo Osei Tutu II.

As a founder of Ghana -South Korea Business Chamber of Commerce and Executive Member of Ghana – Chinese Business Chamber of Commerce, Hon Kwasi Kankam, has endowed himself with the requisite needs for the flourishment of the business community in the Kumasi metropolis.
The Kumasi mayor leading aspirant, has facilitated and organised a business trip for businessmen and women within Nhyiaeso Constituency for a business fair in South Korea in August 2019.
In the political circle, the goal-getting and highly rated former MP, has served some leading members of the NPP both alive and dead well in various capacities, including the likes of former President J.A Kufuor, current president His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, His Excellency the Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Hon. Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Lord Commey and others.
Hon. Kwasi Kankam, has over the dedicated his energy and money to the development of consolidation of the great elephant family.
Even after suffering a painful defeat in the party’s primaries in the run-up to the 2020 elections, the ex-MP relegated his interest and made that of the party supreme.
This led to his formation of the Aspirants Unite for Victory(AUV), a group which played a pioneering role in the party’s victory in last year’s elections.
