Mr.Precious Agbenya, political activist and a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication team has lambasted Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) for what he described as mischievous attempt to surpress the will of Ghanaian electorate in the upcoming 2024 elections.
According him, the intention of the Eectoral Commission (EC) of Ghana to use Ghana card as the sole document for registering people, to guarantee their eligibility to vote in the upcoming 2024 general election is a deliberate attempt to rig the 2024 general election for tjob governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He entreated the Electoral Commission to stop the move of Ghana Card being the only document for the sake peaceful voters registration exercise. says the Ghana card is not the only document to proof that, someone is a Ghanaian.
He stated that, the attempt by Commission EC to use Ghana is a total fallacy and obnoxious. He added that, the NDC as a political party, is very much aware with evidence where people from other countries who are not Ghanaians have the Ghana card.
He disclosed that, the Ghana card is not the only credible document to prof one’s nationality, says it’s high time Ghanaians rise up to condemn t the Electoral Commission of Ghana and the NPP government for such a move just to advance the political fortunes, while the ordinary Ghanaians would l continue to go hungry, and be suffering.
. He lamented that, the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana and the NPP government must note that, their plans would never succeed.
He stressed that, the NPP government should not take the ordinary Ghanaians for granted because the electorates are now vigilant and would not tolerate that that could disturbilized .our democracy.
Mr. Agbenya cautioned the Electoral Commission against the attemp to rig the upcoming 2024 general election in favour of the governing NPP or disturbilized the peace we are enjoying in our democratic dispensation since 1992.
The ordinary Ghanaians are yearning for the coming back of the NDC party in January 2025.
