Two persons have been confirmed dead in a fatal crash involving a Commercial Hyundai Vehicle and Articulated Truck at Akyem Asafo stretch of the Accra to Kumasi highway in Eastern region.
Many other passengers aboard the Hyundai Vehicle were seriously injured and rushed to nearby Asafo Health center wnd Suhum government hospital.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by Police.
The crash occured few days after,three(3) persons died in a horrific crash between tricycle and truck at Adukrom -Akuapem in the Okere District of Eastern region.
The crash occurred on 16th of May 2023
at about 7:am near waterworks junction area in Adukrom.
According to an eyewitness the tricycle locally known as “Aboboya” was loaded with concrete land demarcation pillars descending from Adukrom towards Aseseeso but reportedly failed break colliding with Kia truck with registration number GE 7984 coming from the opposite direction.
The two persons aboard the tricycle died instantly but the rider died upon arrival at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital where eight other victims were rushed to for emergency care.
Assembly member for Adukrom- Methodist electoral area Hon Ebenezer Obiri Asare, explained that a total of twelve(12) victims were involved .
Five (5) were in the tricycle while seven (7) were in the Kia truck.
