E/R: NGO, BREKUSO CHIEF AND RESIDENTS ORGANIZE MASSIVE CLEAN-UP EXERCISE IN BREKUSO

Give To Life Charity Organization (GTL) has applauded the chief and residents of Brekuso in the Akuapem South Municipality of the Eastern region for their show of leadership in participating in a clean-up exercise in some part of the municipality.

The Chief executive officer of Give to Life Charity Organization, Mrs. Dorcas Dadzie made the commendation in an interview with newsmen after the clean-up exercise organized by the Give To Life Charity Organization (GTL) in collaboration with the Zoomlion Company, Chief and residents of Brekusu and its environs which provided logistics.

She said the clean-up was an annual exercise by the GTL and forms part of activities towards the GTL children’s party slated for 11th December 2021 at Brekuso in the Akuapem South Municipality of the Eastern region.

The Public Relations Officer of GTL, Madam Helen Kankam said this particular exercise has the endorsement of the Paramount chief of Brekusu who also doubles as the Akuapem Twafohene, Odeifour Oteng Korankye II who provided leadership comprising organizations, churches, assemblymen, elders and opinion leaders.

The Assembly member for Brekusu electoral area, Hon Samuel Appiah said it was a task for the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly to ensure continuous clean-ups in the town but the next thing the Assembly would undertake was to enforce its sanitation bye-laws in the communities.
He added a note of caution the enforcement of the sanitation laws will be done without fear or favor.
He called for support either through education, provision of logistics, funding or physical presence in actual work to ensure that the towns are clean.
He expressed gratitude to the Give To Life Charity Organization (GTL) and the traditional leaders of Brekuso for their support and being partners in the sanitation Programmes of the Assembly.

Odeifour Oteng Korankye II, the Brekusu Manhene and the Akuapem Twafohene advised the residents in Brekuso to get actively involved in clean-up exercises to prevent diseases.
Oteng Korankye II expressed gratitude to the GTL Chief Executive, the Zoomlion Company and the assembly member who supported the clean-up exercise.
