“My biggest worry is that men always take advantage of our female members, get them pregnant and later abandon them’, Mr. Samuel Sarpong Boateng, Eastern Regional Chairman of Persons with Disability (PWDs) has disclosed.
Speaking to Bryt fm news, he complained that most men have refused to take responsibility of their members and that makes it difficult for them to take care of the children.
Mr. Sarpong Boateng narrated “It is unfortunate for some of our members to go through such abuse and rejection due to their disabilities.
He disclosed this when the New Juaben north municipality presented items and cash amoubt to PWDs as their share of the District Assemblies Common Fund to improve upon their livelihoods.
He, therefore, advised beneficiaries to make good use of the donations to help deal with the challenge of depending on others for survival.
“We also face problems with renting rooms to stay, accessibility to work and government buildings and that remains a challenge for me and my members” he added.
