Dr. Professor Adu Gyamfi, aka Dr. Time Daso, Donates to Patients, Urges Government Action on Illegal Mining

Renowned herbalist, Dr. Professor Adu Gyamfi, popularly known in the herbal industry as Dr. Time Daso, has celebrated his birthday with a charitable gesture that left a lasting impact on his patients and the community. In honor of the occasion, the celebrated herbal practitioner made generous donations to his patients, including television sets, mobile phones, bags of rice, cooking oil, and other essential items. The donation event, held at his herbal clinic, served as a platform for Dr. Time Daso to express his gratitude to his patients for their continued support of his practice over the years.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Time Daso explained that the donations were his way of giving back to the community that has supported him. “It is my way of saying thank you to all of you who have been with me throughout this journey. Your support means a lot to me,” he said, acknowledging the trust his patients have placed in his expertise in herbal medicine.

In addition to the donations, the occasion also provided an opportunity for Dr. Time Daso to address a pressing national issue: the environmental destruction caused by illegal mining activities, also known as ‘galamsey.’ Dr. Daso used the platform to urge the government to implement stricter measures to tackle the growing menace of galamsey, which he said is causing irreversible damage to the country’s forests and water bodies.

Dr. Time Daso highlighted the adverse impact illegal mining has had on the herbal medicine industry in Ghana, noting that the destruction of forest reserves has made it increasingly difficult for herbalists to access the medicinal plants needed for treating diseases.

“Our forests are being destroyed by illegal miners, and this is making it extremely difficult for herbalists to find the necessary plants and herbs that we use to cure various diseases,” he lamented. “The government needs to take immediate action to stop this. If we lose our forests, we are also losing a vital part of our healthcare system.”
