Chief Extols French Envoy

KONTOMERE KWAME Frimpong Ababio, the chief of Atwima Yabi, a community in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, has commended the French ambassador to Ghana, Anne Sophie Avé, for her role in promoting Ghanaian indigenous culture.According to the traditional ruler, not only has the diplomat promoted Ghanaian culture, but also contributed towards the development of the country, particularly in the rural areas.

The chief was speaking as the Special Guest of Honour of a programme dubbed ‘Meet and Connect’, organized by Alliance Francaise, Kumasi. for the fans and followers of the French Diplomat recently.

The traditional ruler who was enthused by the role played by the French Ambassador, said he was not surprised when she was installed as the Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen) by the chief and people of Hani in the Tain District of the Bono Region under the stool name “Nana Benneh III”.“She deserves the title and I pray that God will bless and also give her long life,” he prayed. He described the ambassador as affable, respectful and intelligent diplomat who has the love to assist and support the underprivileged in society.“I was amazed to see Mrs. Avé danced and interact with the people.

Honestly speaking it is rare to see a diplomat come such a level to intersperse with the locals. I wish other diplomats would emulate her,” he said, adding, “Mrs. Avé has shown commitment to promote and sell the cultural heritage of Ghana.”The traditional ruler wished that white people who think Africans live on trees, walk naked and have nothing good to offer would draw closer to Mrs. Ave and learn from her. “Whether someone is black or white, we were all made in the image of God so we should do away with racism that people with black skin experience.”
