The incumbent regional chairman of the new Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has crusaded for civil campaigning atmosphere from the camp of all aspirants to complement the hard won integrity of the party in the region.
Chairman Wontumi, the surest bet to lead the NPP in the Ashanti region to break the eight (8), also beseeched delegates and party fanatics to shun internal scuffles pending their Regional Executive Elections.
He made this appeal during his campaign visit to Kuntanase, in the Bosomtwe constituency on Friday, May 13 2022 to garner votes.
According to Chairman Wontumi, he holds a firm conviction against intra-party gain strife and sees it unnecessary towards their breaking the eight mission. He admonished his followers against adopting the use of invectives, denigrations and any form of contentions against any of his opponents.
He stressed that, all aspirants are presented with the opportunity to highlight their individual capabilities and table down their conceived ideas towards attaining the party’s intentions of forming the next government.
That, he said, is the very reason he has rather resorted to projecting his achievements, abilities and ideas for the betterment of NPP in Ashanti than engaging in character and personality assassination of his opponents which appeals well than employing cruel politicking.
He presented that, the party after this phase will demand for the unity of all aspirants to drum home their single goal of holding unto power which should start and continue during the campaign period.
Speaking further, Chairman Wontumi emphasized that maintaining his incumbency in the upcoming Regional Executive Elections will catapult the efforts of the Ashanti NPP in achieving yet another victory in the next election for the party following his successful two terms.
He however appealed to the Bosomtwe delegates to support him once more together with all other incumbent executives who formed partnership with him during his two terms in office and worked committedly, sacrificing their precious time, energy and resources to realize the growth of the party in the Ashanti Region.
He noted that, his leadership, coupled with the massive inputs of the current executives worked miracles for NPP to secure power in elections 2016 and 2020 against an uncompromising opposition NDC.
Chairman Wontumi expressed his appreciations to the party leadership at Bosomtwe for their unflinching support and asked of them to translate it into votes to realize his commanding victory over other contenders.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to show their readiness in voting for him, Aikins Addai Poku, the Bosomtwe constituency Chairman of NPP presented a cash of GHS70,000.00 to support the campaign of Wontumi.
According to Mr. Addai Poku, the newly elected constituency executives of the party supported the campaign team of Wontumi with GHS50,000.00, whiles the entire Bosomtwe constituency also supported with GHS20,000.00 and a sheep.
