Suame NADMO, Police Retrieve Body of Young Man Found Dead at Maakro Market

The Suame Municipality was thrown into a state of shock on Monday, August 11, 2025, after the lifeless body of a young man was discovered near a container at Maakro Market.
According to the Suame Municipal Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the office received a distress call at exactly 2:00 p.m., alerting them to the presence of a dead body in the area. Without delay, NADMO officials proceeded to the scene, accompanied by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Suame Divisional Police Command and personnel from the Environmental Health Department of the Suame Municipal Assembly

Upon arrival, the team confirmed the report and immediately coordinated the safe removal of the body. It was subsequently transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the deceased, and the cause of death remains unknown. The police have launched a full-scale investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the incident.

Speaking to residents, many expressed fear and concern over the safety of the market area, which is one of the busiest commercial centers in the municipality. They called for increased police patrols and better lighting in and around the market to prevent similar incidents.

The Suame Municipal Assembly and NADMO have appealed to the public to remain calm and assist the police by providing any information that could aid the ongoing investigations.
