Assembly Man’s House Collapses After Heavy Rains At Dunkwa-on-Offin

Some valuable items and a collapse house has left Assembly member for Aggrey Road Electoral Area in Dunkwa-on-offin devastated after a heavy downpour on sunday.

According to the Mr. Francis Damoah, he was fast asleep on sunday afternoon when the incident occured.

He narrated that the level of the water was above his knee after he was awake and realized there was a massive flood after the heavy downpour.

Soon after moving from the room, the assembly member said his room and some other rooms immediately collapsed.

Dunkwa-on-offin has since last week friday experience some torrential rains such that it rained heavily the entire sunday morning till its evening.

Various places and suburbs of the municipality which includes; Atechem, Accra town, Kyekyewere station, Sofokrom, Aggrey Road, Brumase and others have experienced some incidents of flooding.

Some vehicles and other valuables were reportedly washed away by floods at Atechem, a suburb of dunkwa-on-offin on sunday night.

People are reported to have been trapped in their rooms due to heavy flooding in the area.
