Ashanti Regional Police Command Arrests Street Robbery Gang, Recovers 70 Phones Including 59 iPhones

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has successfully arrested three suspects linked to a series of street robberies, recovering over 70 mobile phones, including 59 iPhones, from their hideouts.
According to police reports, the suspects had been terrorizing residents in Asokore Mampong, KNUST, Kenya Se, Bosore, Duase, Antoa, and neighboring communities, targeting unsuspecting pedestrians and commuters.
The suspects have been identified as Abdul Sadam (UN), 22; Philip Nyarko (Kawaawa), 24; and Samad Haji (Toronto), 21.

Addressing the media during a press briefing on Monday, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, confirmed that all three suspects have confessed to the offenses in their caution statements. “They are currently in custody assisting investigations, having confessed their crimes,” he stated.

DCOP Arthur further called on members of the public who may have fallen victim to these suspects to come forward and assist police with ongoing investigations. He emphasized that all suspects will be brought before the courts in due course to face legal proceedings.

The Police Commander reassured the public of the command’s commitment to ensuring safety and urged citizens to remain law-abiding to avoid falling foul of the law.
