On March 22, 2025, Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, alongside the Legal Counsel to the President, Lawyer Marieta Brew, represented His Excellency John Dramani Mahama at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church. The event, held in the Ashanti Region, was a significant milestone in the church’s history, and the occasion was marked by a display of gratitude for the contributions the SDA Church continues to make to the community.

In his remarks, Dr. Amoakohene expressed deep appreciation for the longstanding partnership between the Church and the government, especially in key sectors such as education and health. He highlighted that the church’s efforts have had a profound impact on the lives of many in the region, from providing quality education to offering healthcare services to the underserved.

Additionally, the Regional Minister echoed President Mahama’s call for the SDA Church and other faith-based institutions to partner more closely with the government in advancing agriculture, a critical sector for job creation, food security, and national development. Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that, through such partnerships, the church could further contribute to the economic and social well-being of the region and the country.

As part of his representation of President Mahama, Dr. Amoakohene made a generous donation to support the Church’s ongoing fundraising efforts. This donation symbolized the government’s continued solidarity with the SDA Church and its mission to serve the public good.

Dr. Amoakohene concluded his remarks by thanking the SDA Church for its spiritual leadership and positive social impact. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working with the Church in the years ahead, particularly in areas that promote national development and prosperity.

The event underscored the importance of collaboration between the Church and government, and attendees expressed excitement over the potential for future partnerships that will enhance the lives of people in the Ashanti Region and beyond.

This significant anniversary celebration serves as a reminder of the vital role faith-based institutions play in shaping communities and contributing to the overall development of the nation.
