Archbishop Daniel Yinkah Sarfo Calls for Humble Leadership During Triumphant Church Induction Ceremony

The immediate past Archbishop of the Anglican Church–Ghana, Most Reverend Professor Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, has called on church and societal leaders to embrace humility and service in their leadership roles, just as Christ did.
Delivering a powerful sermon at the induction service of Reverend Emmanuel Amoako Okyere as the new General Overseer of the Triumphant Church International in Obuasi over the weekend, Archbishop Yinkah Sarfo emphasized that leadership in God’s work must be anchored on humility, service, and compassion.

According to him, leadership is not a position of prestige or self-glorification but an opportunity to serve others faithfully and selflessly. “Whatever role or position is entrusted to us, we must lead in humility and dedicate ourselves to serving the people with love,” he stressed.

He further reminded the congregation that Jesus Christ’s kingship was a symbol of service and sacrifice rather than earthly power. “It is interesting to note that the crown of Jesus was not made of gold, but thorns—representing sacrifice, humility, and pain for the redemption of mankind,” he added, urging leaders to reflect deeply on this divine example.

The ceremony, held at the Obuasi branch of Triumphant Church International, attracted several dignitaries from various denominations, traditional authorities, family members, and a large congregation who came to witness the induction of Reverend Okyere into his new spiritual mandate.

The Past Methodist Bishop of Ghana, Rt. Reverend N. B. Abubakar, also delivered a goodwill message, advising Reverend Okyere to lead with a heart of unity, fairness, and love. He urged him to uphold transparency and inclusiveness in all aspects of his ministry, adding that the success of any church depends on a leadership that values the people it serves.
Rt. Reverend Abubakar also appealed to the youth to remain steadfast in their faith, resist peer pressure, and commit themselves to the teachings of Christ. “When the youth stand firm in their faith, the church and the nation grow stronger,” he said.

In his inaugural address, the newly inducted General Overseer, Reverend Emmanuel Amoako Okyere, expressed deep gratitude to God and the entire church for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to lead the church with integrity, humility, and a strong sense of purpose.
“I am committed to upholding the doctrines and traditions of the Triumphant Church International. I will lead by example, promote unity among the clergy and congregation, and ensure that this ministry continues to be a light to the community and the nation,” Reverend Okyere assured.
He further called for the continued support, prayers, and cooperation of the congregation, emphasizing that the success of the church depends on collective effort and faithfulness to God’s calling.

The colorful and spirit-filled ceremony featured soul-lifting praises, worship sessions, and intercessory prayers led by senior clergy members of the church. The event climaxed with a symbolic presentation of the pastoral staff and official induction declaration, signifying Reverend Okyere’s full assumption of office as General Overseer.
The induction of Reverend Emmanuel Amoako Okyere marks a new chapter in the life of Triumphant Church International as it continues its mission of evangelism, community impact, and spiritual renewal across Ghana and beyond.
