Amansie South NDC Chairman Steps Down from DCE Race, Rallies Behind Hon. Benjamin Marfo

The Amansie South Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Frank Antwi Agyei, has officially withdrawn from the race for the District Chief Executive (DCE) position and has declared his full support for Hon. Benjamin Marfo, the party’s immediate past parliamentary candidate.

In a statement announcing his decision, Mr. Antwi Agyei revealed that after thorough consultations with chiefs, grassroots members, branch executives, and the majority of Assembly members, it became evident that Hon. Benjamin Marfo is the most preferred candidate for the DCE role.

“After extensive consultations with key stakeholders, I have come to the realization that Hon. Benjamin Marfo, our three-time parliamentary aspirant, enjoys overwhelming support for the position of DCE. In the interest of party unity and development, I have decided to withdraw my candidature and throw my full support behind him,” Mr. Antwi Agyei stated.

He expressed his appreciation to the party for considering him for the position and advancing him through the regional vetting stage. However, he noted that stepping down at this point would serve the greater good of the party and the district.

“I am grateful to the party for shortlisting me for this crucial position, but I believe that for the sake of party cohesion and unity, this decision will be in the best interest of all stakeholders,” he added.

With Mr. Antwi Agyei’s endorsement, Hon. Benjamin Marfo’s chances of securing the DCE appointment have gained significant momentum. His extensive experience as a three-time parliamentary candidate and his strong grassroots connections position him as a formidable choice for the role.

The withdrawal and endorsement mark a key moment in the selection process, as the NDC in Amansie South works towards strengthening its internal structures and leadership for effective governance and political success.
