Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV, the Chief of Amakye Bare, has officially declared his candidacy for the upcoming Council of State elections, setting his sights on driving youth empowerment and promoting the development of Asanteman.
Nana Kumanini’s decision to run is deeply rooted in his passion for advancing economic opportunities for the youth and contributing to the broader growth agenda for the Ashanti region. He draws inspiration from a comprehensive development blueprint shared by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, which outlines key strategies for advancing the Ashanti region, a plan that was also sent to President John Dramani Mahama.
In an interview with the media today,Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV revealed that if elected, he plans to advise the President on policies that align with the Asantehene’s developmental goals while offering innovative solutions that will enhance the country’s path to growth and sustainability.
“My intention is not to merely be part of the bureaucratic setup but to actively work toward a developmental agenda that is aligned with the Ashanti region’s development plan and Ghana’s broader goals,” he said.
A staunch advocate for youth development, Nana Kumanini believes the future of the region and the nation is directly tied to the empowerment of its youth. He has expressed a strong commitment to ensuring that the young people of Asanteman are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the global job market.
“Asanteman’s future depends on its youth. I am committed to lobbying for policies that will provide the necessary support for young people, helping them acquire the skills they need to succeed in the workforce,” he emphasized.
Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV further stressed that addressing the employment challenges faced by the youth is crucial for driving sustainable and inclusive development in the region. His agenda includes promoting youth economic empowerment projects that will help unlock the potential of young people.
“Many young people in our region are struggling to secure meaningful employment. If I am elected to the Council of State, I will work towards the implementation of more initiatives that will empower the youth and provide them with access to decent, fulfilling employment,” he promised.
Nana Kumanini’s candidacy gained momentum when he successfully filed his nomination at the Electoral Commission’s Ashanti Regional office on Thursday, securing the 6th position on the ballot.
With the Council of State elections slated for February 11, 2024, Nana Gyedu Kumanini IV’s candidacy stands out as a promising prospect for those advocating for youth empowerment and the development of the Ashanti region.
