Akuapem Mangoase to Celebrate Inaugural Odwira Festival on November 9, 2024

For the first time in history, the Akuapem Mangoase Traditional Area is set to celebrate its Odwira Festival on November 9, 2024, following extensive deliberations among traditional leaders to resolve disputes that had previously prevented the event. The festival is themed “Building an Ultra-Modern Youth Center,” which aims to raise funds for the construction of a youth center to serve the community.

Speaking at a press engagement, Nana Yoofi, the Kyidomhene of the Akuapem Mangoase Traditional Area, emphasized that the inaugural celebration would be marked by a variety of fun-filled activities designed to engage the local population, particularly the youth. Among the scheduled events are sports competitions, health walks, and community cleaning exercises, which are expected to foster a sense of unity and responsibility.

Nana Yoofi highlighted the significance of the festival for both cultural and developmental reasons. He encouraged Ghanaians, especially the youth, to take part in the planned activities, as they would contribute not only to the festive atmosphere but also to the broader goal of community development.

“The success of this event depends on our collective efforts. I urge everyone to avoid any disputes or misunderstandings that could mar the festival’s success or delay the progress of the youth center project,” Nana Yoofi said.

He further expressed optimism that the Odwira Festival would promote a sense of togetherness and joy among attendees while reinforcing the importance of engaging in community initiatives for the betterment of the Akuapem Mangoase area.

As the community looks forward to its first-ever Odwira Festival, there is hope that the event will mark the beginning of greater unity and prosperity, with the youth center serving as a lasting legacy of the occasion.
