Some peoples suspected to be land guards have reportedly attacked the workers of Otumfour Industrial hub at Nkawie in the Ashanti region.
One woman who claims to be a member of the royal family at Nkawie was suspected to hire the alleged criminals according to information.
The Nkawie Municipal chair for the association, Mr. Cephas Tetteh narrating his ordeal to GhNews6.com, noted that it took the timely intervention of a good samaritan who freed them from the suspected rioters.
He said “On the 6th June, 2022, we went to work, thus, the land we have bought from Nananom from Nkawie with signed documents from the Manhyia palace, we saw some well-built men numbering about five with a woman, so we were panicking since we didn’t know their whereabout.”
According to Mr. Cephas Tetteh, these crooks went back and came the next morning whilst they were on the site, but this time increased their numbers, so as he neared them to inquire from them, their mission on the land brought the atrocity.
“We were beating ferociously by these thugs after I tried to ask them about their mission on the site. After their unlawful actions, they took to their heels, so we reported the case to our superiors at the regional level and also proceeded to Nkawie police station, where the police persuaded the thugs and arrested them. The latest update is that the suspected criminals were subsequently arraigned before Nkawie circuit court whilst granting fifty thousand bail each. The court has adjourned the case to 20th June 2022 to reappear before court,” he emphasized.
He seized the convenience to appealed to the workers to avoid been panic by the unlawful behaviors of the suspected criminals since they GNAG have every rightful documents in support to prove in any court for legal action against these perpetrators.
