The Founder and General Overseer of New Jerusalem Chapel at Sokoban Ampayoo, Bishop Dr. J. Y. Adu, has advised the newly elected flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, to maintain neutrality ahead of the party’s upcoming constituency and regional executive elections.
According to the renowned clergyman, it is crucial for the flag bearer to avoid openly endorsing or supporting any individual aspirant in the internal party contests. He explained that such neutrality would enable Dr. Bawumia to work effectively and harmoniously with all party executives who eventually emerge victorious after the elections.
Bishop Dr. Adu noted that internal party elections often come with heightened tensions and competing interests, and any perceived favoritism from the flag bearer could deepen divisions within the party. He stressed that staying neutral would help promote unity, inclusiveness, and mutual respect among party members, which are essential for building a strong and cohesive political front.
He further indicated that a united party leadership at all levels would place the NPP in a stronger position to strategize effectively and mobilize support ahead of future national elections.
Meanwhile, Bishop Dr. J. Y. Adu also appealed to the leadership of the New Patriotic Party to pay particular attention to the welfare of its party communicators. He described communicators as a vital pillar of the party, responsible for projecting its policies, defending its record, and shaping public perception.

The clergyman therefore urged the party to provide adequate support to its communicators, including financial assistance, logistics, and other essential working tools, to enable them to effectively propagate the achievements and vision of the NPP across the country.
Bishop Dr. Adu concluded by emphasizing that motivated and well-resourced communicators would enhance the party’s public engagement, strengthen its messaging, and contribute significantly to its overall electoral success.
