Atwima Kwanwoma DCE Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah Applauds Outgoing Education Director at Grand Send-Off

A dignified and heartwarming send-off ceremony was on Thursday held at the Afua Kobi Ampem Senior High School in honour of the outgoing Atwima Kwanwoma District Director of Education, Ms. Doris Ofori. The well-attended event brought together officials of the Ghana Education Service (GES), heads of institutions, traditional leaders, teachers, Assembly officials, and other stakeholders who gathered to celebrate her exemplary leadership and outstanding contribution to education in the district.

Delivering her address, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, showered glowing commendations on Ms. Ofori, describing her as a disciplined, visionary, and selfless education leader whose dedication significantly improved teaching and learning across the district.

According to the DCE, Ms. Ofori’s tenure was characterised by strengthened supervision, enhanced administrative coordination, and a commitment to teacher professionalism. She noted that through Ms. Ofori’s consistent monitoring of schools, enforcement of standards, and collaborative efforts with various stakeholders, the district recorded notable improvements in academic performance, particularly in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Hon. Asamoah further praised the outgoing Director for cultivating a culture of teamwork and accountability among teachers and school administrators. She emphasised that Ms. Ofori’s cordial relationship with the District Assembly, traditional authorities, and educational partners fostered a supportive environment that helped address challenges and drive sustainable development in the sector.

Representatives from the Ghana Education Service, school heads, teachers, and various associations also shared heartfelt tributes, highlighting Ms. Ofori’s legacy of mentorship, problem-solving, and transformative leadership. Many described her as a firm but fair administrator who consistently prioritized the welfare of both students and staff.

Taking her turn, Ms. Doris Ofori expressed profound gratitude to the GES, the District Assembly, school heads, teachers, and all stakeholders for their cooperation during her service. She encouraged continued unity and commitment to sustaining the progress achieved in education delivery within the district.

 

The event featured cultural displays, presentations of citations, and the awarding of gifts to honour Ms. Ofori’s distinguished service. Emotions ran high as colleagues and friends celebrated her unwavering commitment, integrity, and passion for quality education.

The ceremony closed with renewed calls for stakeholders to build on the strong foundation laid by Ms. Ofori to further advance educational development in Atwima Kwanwoma District.
