Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah Embarks on Thank You Tour; Promises Solutions to Roads, Electricity, and Network Challenges

The Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, has embarked on a constituency-wide “Thank You Tour” to express his appreciation to constituents for their continued support while also assessing the pressing development needs across communities.

The tour has so far taken the MP and his team to several rural communities including Hiamankwa, Mantukwa, Adadekrom, and surrounding areas. While the tour primarily served as a gesture of gratitude, it also became an essential platform for residents to voice longstanding challenges hindering their quality of life.

Among the top issues raised were the poor state of road infrastructure, lack of access to electricity, and unreliable telecommunications services. Residents appealed for urgent intervention, highlighting how these deficiencies isolate them from economic opportunities, education, and healthcare.

“Our roads are terrible. Drivers refuse to come here unless we pay extra. Even during medical emergencies, it’s a struggle to find a vehicle,” lamented a resident of Mantukwa.

The absence of electricity in many communities was also a major concern. Residents noted that the lack of power continues to affect children’s education, small-scale enterprises, and general community development. Some even described how the situation is contributing to the growing rural-urban migration, as young people leave in search of better living conditions.

Mobile network challenges were another key issue. Locals described the situation as a “digital blackout,” with poor or nonexistent signals affecting communication, disrupting mobile money transactions, and impeding access to emergency services and information.

Addressing the residents, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah acknowledged the gravity of the issues raised and assured the people of his unwavering commitment to facilitating development. He emphasized that he is in close collaboration with the Ministries of Roads and Highways, Energy, and Communications to address the challenges with practical solutions.

“I have listened carefully to your concerns, and I want to assure you they are both valid and urgent,” the MP stated. “Together with the relevant government agencies, I am working to ensure our roads are fixed, electricity is extended to all, and telecom providers improve network coverage across this constituency.”

He further called for stronger collaboration between his office, community leaders, and assembly members to ensure that development projects are followed up effectively and implemented in a timely manner.

The MP noted that the Thank You Tour forms part of a broader effort to promote participatory governance and maintain direct engagement with constituents throughout his tenure.

Residents praised the MP for his hands-on approach, describing the tour as unprecedented in the constituency’s history. Many said it was the first time a sitting MP had returned after elections to listen directly to the needs of the people.

As the Thank You Tour continues to other communities in the coming days, there is renewed hope among residents that their voices will be heard, and their needs addressed with concrete action.
