Odotobri MP Supports BECE Candidates with 1,631 Mathematical Sets, Pledges Scholarships for Top Performers

The Member of Parliament for the Odotobri Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Anthony Mmieh, has extended a generous gesture to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in his constituency by distributing a total of 1,631 mathematical sets to aid them in their upcoming exams.
The donation, which took place during a series of engagements with final-year Junior High School students across the constituency, saw 804 girls and 827 boys each receiving a mathematical set — a vital tool for the mathematics and science components of the BECE.
Addressing the candidates, Hon. Mmieh encouraged them not to be fearful of the exams but rather to study diligently and aim for success. He emphasized the importance of academic excellence and assured the students that he would sponsor the secondary education of any candidate who scores between aggregate 6 and 15 in the exams.
“I believe in investing in the future of our youth. If you study hard and make us proud with your results, I will make sure your education continues smoothly with my full support,” he declared.
The students, visibly excited by both the donations and the MP’s motivational words, expressed their gratitude and pledged to study hard to justify the investment made in them.
“We are very grateful to our MP for thinking about us and motivating us with these items and promises. We will not disappoint him,” one student said.
Hon. Mmieh concluded the distribution exercise with a challenge to the students, stating that he is determined to see a top-performing student emerge from Odotobri. He pledged a special reward for the overall best candidate in the constituency.
This initiative forms part of Hon. Mmieh’s broader commitment to improving education outcomes in Odotobri and empowering the next generation of leaders.
