Grace Asamoah Agyemang Confirmed as Atwima Kwanwoma DCE with 100% Endorsement Amid Tight Security

In a significant political milestone, Madam Grace Asamoah Agyemang, former Chief Internal Auditor of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Atwima Nwabiagya South District, has been overwhelmingly confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly.
She secured a unanimous endorsement from all 47 assembly members, polling 47 ‘Yes’ votes out of 47 valid votes cast — a 100% approval rate. The confirmation process, held under heavy security presence, took place on Friday, May 16, 2025, and was described as peaceful and well-organized despite earlier tensions surrounding her nomination.
Security personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Fire Service, and the Ghana Immigration Service were deployed to the venue to maintain law and order. Their presence was a preventive measure in response to concerns over internal opposition and protests from some factions within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the district who had initially resisted her nomination.
According to a report by www.dailywatchgh.com, Grace’s confirmation result, while impressive, narrowly trailed that of her predecessor, Hon. Prince Karikari, who polled 48 out of 48 votes in 2020. Nevertheless, her 100% endorsement is being hailed as a strong show of confidence in her leadership potential.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Grace Asamoah Agyemang expressed deep appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for the trust reposed in her. She also thanked the assembly members for their unanimous support and pledged to justify their confidence through diligent service.
“I am deeply humbled by this overwhelming endorsement,” she said. “I assure the good people of Atwima Kwanwoma that I will work tirelessly to bring positive change and development to our communities. My focus will be on infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, and transforming the district into a model of progress.”
She also called on the assembly members, traditional leaders, and residents to unite behind her vision and contribute to the development agenda. “One of my major priorities is to drive the Atwima Kwanwoma District to a perfect destination,” she added.
Representing the Ashanti Regional Minister at the ceremony, the Regional Director of the National Service Scheme, Alhaji Obidiaba, congratulated the newly confirmed DCE and urged all stakeholders to support her. He emphasized that collaboration, unity, and non-partisan teamwork were critical to accelerating development in the district.
The Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma and former Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Kofi Amankwa Manu, also graced the occasion and delivered a powerful message of unity and service.
He urged assembly members to put aside personal interests and political differences in favor of the collective development of the district. “Let us serve our people selflessly and build a united front to drive the transformation we all seek,” he said.
Hon. Amankwa Manu reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the new DCE, stressing that collaboration between the District Assembly and the MP’s office is essential to achieving real impact on the ground.
With her confirmation now complete, all eyes are on Madam Grace Asamoah Agyemang as she steps into her new role to steer the affairs of the Atwima Kwanwoma District. Stakeholders are optimistic that her background in public service and auditing will bring transparency, accountability, and accelerated development to the area.
