Kessben University College (KUC), Kumasi, has been granted accreditation to run a 4-year Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications degree with options in: Broadcast Journalism; Print Journalism; Public Relations; and Advertising Studies by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
The new B. A. in Media and Communications degree is going to take off in the next academic year 2021/2022 in January next year, and is under the Department of Communication and Media studies in the School of Liberal Arts, Kessben University College.
According to the Registrar, Mr. Samuel Osei-Poku, the degree programme has been designed to execute strategies and to promote hands-on skills and innovations in the corperate environment.
Mr. Osei-Poku said “what makes our new degree standards among other communication programmes programmes are it’s uniqueness and in-built mechanisms of the social media analytics through the innovations, research base and the practical aspect of it”
“The University College boasts of its own campus Television and Radio stations and with qualified practical lecturers who are burned to train students for today’s digital marketing”. Mr. Osei-Poku.
Kessben University College runs the following programmes: Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications; BSc in Computer Science; BSc in Business Administration; Diploma in Media and Communications; Diploma in Business Administration; and Diploma in Computer Science.
