The Women’s Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Manso Adubia Constituency, Miss Ruth Osei, has confidently declared the commitment of the women in the constituency to deliver 85% of votes for the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2024 general elections. Additionally, she assured that the women would rally strongly behind their incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Frimpong Addo, to ensure his re-election.
Miss Osei made these remarks during a media interaction at a women’s skill training workshop held in Manso Datano and Tontokrom . The event, which brought together hundreds of women from the constituency, focused on empowering participants with practical skills in soap making, meat pie preparation, shower gel production, and the making of bathing soaps, among others.
Speaking at the event, Miss Osei emphasized the importance of women’s involvement in politics and development. She noted that empowering women with vocational skills would not only improve their economic standing but also foster a greater sense of responsibility and commitment towards the progress of the constituency and the country as a whole.
“We, the women of Manso Adubia, are determined to contribute our part to the NPP’s victory in the upcoming elections. Our goal is to secure at least 85% of the votes for Dr. Bawumia, and we will also ensure that Hon. Frimpong Addo is retained as our MP to continue the good works he has started for our community,” she said.
Miss Osei lauded the government’s initiatives in supporting women and youth in various sectors. She highlighted that the skill training program was part of the broader NPP agenda to empower women through entrepreneurship and job creation. This, she believes, will help address unemployment and improve living standards in the constituency.
She further called on all women in the constituency to remain united and committed to the cause of the NPP, stating that their active participation and solidarity were crucial for securing a resounding victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Participants of the workshop expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that the skills acquired would provide them with new avenues for income generation. Many of them shared their excitement about being equipped to start small businesses in their local communities, which would help support their families.
The Manso Adubia constituency is known for its strong support for the NPP, and the women’s organiser is confident that their efforts will play a key role in retaining the seat and ensuring that Dr. Bawumia becomes the next president of Ghana.
The 2024 general elections are expected to be highly competitive, with the NPP aiming to maintain its hold on power and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) pushing for a return to governance.
As part of the NPP’s campaign strategy, the party is focusing on grassroots mobilisation and voter education, especially among women and youth, to ensure a high voter turnout and strong support base across the country.
The skill training program in Manso Adubia is one of many initiatives spearheaded by the NPP’s women’s wing to economically empower women while galvanising them towards supporting the party’s agenda in the upcoming elections.
