Dunkwahene call for collective efforts in fight against galamsey

Nana Dr Okofrobuor Obeng Nuako III, Chief of Dunkwa has call for collective efforts in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey) to sanitize the Water bodies and Forest Reserves in the country.
He also entreated those in the small scale mining the need to establish their own taskforce to complement government’s efforts to curb to irresponsible mining in our water bodies and Forest Reserves in the country.
Speaking at the official Inauguration of the refurbishment of Dunkwa Chief palace.
According to him there is the need for the miners themselves to put mechanics and pragmatic measures to ensure that the mining system is clean devoid of irresponsible mining by adopting the proper way of mining.
He said the taskforce that should be establish could ensure that the mining pits that may remains uncovered after the mining at the respective sites are properly covered and reclaim for Agricultural and other commercial purposes.


Nana Okofrobuor commended the Dunkwa citizens who contributed in a diverse ways to ensure the completion of the refurbishment project to have a befitting Chief Palace for Dunkwa traditional authorities.
Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi vii Omanhene of Abeaze Traditional area as chairman of the occasion commended the Dunkwahene for his commitment and innovative idea to ensure that Dunkwa traditional authorities could boast of a befitting Palace.


He urged the citizens of Dunkwa to always support Nana Okofrobuor’s vision to enhance the total development of Dunkwa to improve the socioeconomic development and the standard of living of the residents.
Okoamankra Kwame Akonu x Omanhene of Enyan Asaasa traditional Area and the Vice President of Central Regional House of Chiefs who represented the President of National House of Chiefs called for the need for stakeholders engagement to ensure proper mining devoid of destroying our water bodies and Forest Reserves.
He disclosed that the mining in general create employment for most of the teeming unemployed youth in the country and also source of income towards the socioeconomic development of the country and for that matter the need employ and encourage responsible mining instead of baning the total small scale mining.


The Municipal Chief Executive upper Denkyire East  praised the Chief for releasing Lands for any project that comes to Dunkwa and mentioned Dunkwa Market DVLA Office etc
Therefore the project the chief to do at Dunkwa government hospital is open since the govt has provided equipments to execute such project
The chief praised Ben Amonor Chairman of small scale miners in upper Denkyire East for involving himself in any project that comes to Dunkwa and its various
