Professor . Otchere Addai Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, announced that the renovation of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project is in advanced stages of completion. Speaking at the hospital’s 2024 Mid-year Performance Review conference, Prof. Mensah highlighted the success of the renovation efforts, which have effectively addressed the longstanding issue of water leakage into the wards during rainfall.
Prof. Mensah assured attendees that the materials needed to furnish the renovated wards are expected to arrive soon, as the project nears its final stages. He emphasized the commitment of both the hospital leadership and the Heal Komfo Anokye Project (HeKAP) team to ensuring the project’s success and the proper execution of all renovation activities.
In addition to the renovation updates, Prof. Mensah discussed recent improvements in the hospital’s dialysis facilities. He revealed that the hospital has acquired three new dialysis machines, costing GH₵1.6 million, and received two refurbished machines donated by Springfield. Despite these advancements, he noted that the hospital still requires an additional 25 dialysis machines to fully equip the new dialysis center.
Prof. Mensah appealed to both the government and the public for further support to address the ongoing need for dialysis machines and enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide essential care.
The Head of the Estate Unit at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Mr. Fredrick Oppong, also commented on the progress of the renovation works, providing additional insights into the project’s development.
The conference served as an important platform for discussing both current achievements and future needs of the hospital, highlighting the institution’s continued efforts to improve patient care and facility conditions.
