2024 Election; Kwabre East MCE preaches peace, commends Methodist Church for its role in nation building

MCE for the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Opoku Agyemang Bonsu has called on Ghanaians, especially Christians to guard against any activities that may destroy our peace. Adding that they should continue to pray for the country’s peace and success.

The MCE made this appeal during a 35th Anniversary Celebration by the Ahwiaa Mount Olivet Methodist Church Choir on Sunday.

The MCE who spoke as a special guest, however, thanked the Methodist Church for its role when it comes to peaceful nation building. He also commended the Ahwiaa Mount Olivet Methodist Choir for its continuous role in making the Methodist Church a solid one and however congratulated them.

Finally, the honorable member stood on behalf of the government to offer a protocol of Ghc1000 fee for each student who pays school fees in the church.

Meanwhile, the theme for the 35th Anniversary Celebration was; Growing Into Christian Maturity, The Role Of The Choir In Nation Building Through Singing

On his part, Very Rev. Cosmos Kabaya who led the church service urged Christians to be matured in their quest to serve God.

Maturity, he said, Christians must portray characters that show they are not just Church goers but impact makers.

He also entreated Choristers to always leave exemplary lives since they are part of the Church’s shining lead.

Lastly, Mr. Oppong Kyei, a music composer and Choir Master for the Ahwiaa Mount Olivet Methodist Church Choir, said, the choir has been through a long journey till its 35th Anniversary Celebration.

Explaining the achievements and impacts of the choir so far, he said, the choir dreams to do more things to help the work of God.

He finally revealed that the Church Choir dreams to record most of its composed music onto a tape for the benefit of the general public.
