AHMADIYYA MUSLIM MISSION UNDERTAKES CLEAN UP EXERCISE IN OBUASI

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Obuasi has embarked on a massive clean up exercise in Obuasi during New Year’s Day.
The clean up exercise according to Maulvi Rashid Mahmood Minhas was how the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Obuasi chose to celebrate the New Year’s Day. He said the exercise was to follow in the dictates of Islam which says “Cleanliness Is Half of faith”.
Maulvi Minhas averred that the Mission collaborated with the Obuasi Municipal Assembly and the Assembly member for New Nsuta Auntie B electoral area to clean up the Horsey Park Lorry Terminal, the main Lorry terminal in Obuasi.
“As residents and citizens of Obuasi, it behoves on us to make our communities clean. This is part of our responsibilities and we are happy to have organized our members to embark on this exercise”.
On sustaining the exercise, the religious leader affirmed that, there are plans to make the exercise annual event after it commenced in 2023. He noted that the exercise is done alongside public education to sensitize the populace on the need to observe a cleaner environment.

On his part, Ishaque Ibrahim Amfoh, the Circuit Missionary for Obuasi West emphasized on the benefits of the clean up exercise which he said was part of their communal responsibilities.
He said plans are afoot to intensify campaign to get more people involved during the clean up exercise.
” Whiles we are cleaning the environment, we are also sensitizing the general public to get involved whenever there is a clean up exercise. This will send signals to bystanders ok the need to also contribute to cleaning the environment”
Role of Faith based organisations in the 2024 elections
The Circuit Missionary for Obuasi West said faith based organisations have a responsibility to ensuring a peaceful and successful 2024 general elections. He said whiles the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission will pray to God, they will also educate their members on the dos and donts of the elections.
