Clad in red to signify their displeasure, the Asafo company groups who claim to be kingmakers of the Senya Beraku Community in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region have on Monday morning performed a ritual at the forecourt of their Chief’s Palace to destool the chief from the throne.
According to them, their Chief Nenyi Ampabo Kweku Issiw(VI) is an anti – developmentalist thus seemed not to still be their chief henceforth.
The displeasured indigenes say they are not satisfied with the leadership of their Chief Nenyi Ampabo Kweku Issiw(Vi) hence have been destooled.
They also accused him of failing to promote development in the community by selling lands anyhow.
The latest development that has struck them most and igniting this action is the resolve of the Chief to haul the Winners Chapel International church to court over a parcel of land they purchased to establish a university in the community.
Supi Bondzie Essibuah Acquah is the leader of the Asafo company groups who addressed the media.
Some other community members also shared their grievances to Bryt Fm News concerning developmental challenges confronting their community and blamed the chief of failing to lead as expected.
Meanwhile, when contacted by Bryt Fm News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, the Chief Nenyi Ampabo Kweku Issiw(Vi) declined to speak to the issues but rather went hard on the Journalist.
He emphasised that the Asafo groups have no power to destool him as he has been confered a legitimate chief in accordance with the laws of the country as far as the Chieftaincy institution is concerned.
