Daniel Otuo Acheampong, Afful Nkwanta Assembly Member has commended the Mayor of Kumasi, Mr Samuel Pyne for lighting up the streets and communities within the Kumasi Metropolis.
Speaking on Asanteman Mpunto) program on Ashh Fm over the weekend, the Assembly member said the Mayor has ensured that Afful Nkwanta community including streets leading up to the precincts of Kumasi Technical University were lighted.
These lights have helped to reduce the incidences that happened as a result of darkness in the areas.
“I am happy to say that Mr Sam Pyne is a proactive Mayor and has ensured all the streets in my community through to the Kumasi Technical University were lighted to prevent crime and misbehavior at night”, the Assembly man noted.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP:
The Assembly member also commended the Mayor for his good human relations.
He noted that issues brought to the attention of the Mayor were immediately addressed and tackled.
Mr Acheampong said he notified the Mayor of some scenes at his community and just the following day he saw street lights being mounted across the streets he had identified.
“Almost every member of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has a story to tell about the proactive attitude of the current Mayor, Mr Sam Pyne and we are happy he is doing this so that collectively we can help develop Kumasi”, the Afful Nkwanta elected assembly member stated.
RESPONSE:
Speaking to this reporter on phone, Mr Pyne said his duty was to help address challenges in the Kumasi Metropolis.
He noted that the ideal situation should be that every street or corner in Kumasi must see street lights to prevent crimes as well as ward off miscreants.
This, coupled with other issues like the tackling of waste and filth, the Mayor noted was a prime concern to him.
“I have been made Mayor by the President to oversee the development of Kumasi and the wellbeing of residents and so I count myself as servant to the people and I am committed to do my bit to achieve the goal the President has for Kumasi”, the Mayor stressed.
