3 Injured In An Accident At Ekumfi Essuehyia

An accident involving a Toyota Vitz with registration number GT 9427-21 and another Toyota Yaris car with registration number GR 2326-23 has resulted in three people being injured at Essuehyia Sawaba in the Ekumfi District.

The accident is reported to have happened today at about 12 noon.

The Toyota Vitz was reported to be coming from Takoradi towards Accra whilst the other Toyota Yaris was travelling from Accra towards Cape Coast


According to reports, there were cars ahead of the Toyota Vitz but the driver tried to overtake the cars ahead of him while the saloon car was in its lane at speed from the opposite side resulting in a head-on collision.

It is reported that the driver of the Vitz is a military man.

Three people are reported to be injured; the two drivers and a lady passenger in the Toyota Vitz.

The lady is reported to have sustained serious injuries and has been rushed to the Winneba Hospital whilst the two drivers are receiving medical attention at the Essuehyia Hospital.

The Police reported to the scene and towed the accident cars to safety.

It is reported that both drivers have responded to treatment and are currently assisting the Police in investigations.

Meanwhile, three people were confirmed dead in a motor accident at Ntoaso in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality.

The vehicles involved were a 4×4 Kia Sorento with an unregistered number DV 9593-B and two Benz Sprinter buses with the registration numbers GW 8962-22 and GT 5596-14, respectively.

The accident reportedly occurred around 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 6.

According to eyewitnesses, the speeding Kia Sorento collided with the two buses that were parked along the stretch.

Several people sustained varying degrees of injury and were transported to the Nsawam Government Hospital for medical attention.

Officers from the Ghana Police Service rushed to the accident scene to start investigations into the case.
