3 Foundation in partnership with Emerge Limited and with sponsorship from Kilit Insecticide, has launched a zero malaria initiative at Dansoman in the Greater Accra region.
The team visited the community to engage with residents and distribute products to prevent the spread of malaria.
Malaria is a major public health concern in Ghana, with approximately 10 million cases reported annually.
It is a preventable and treatable disease, but its impact on individuals, families, and communities is devastating.
The zero malaria initiative by kilit insecticide as part of their corporate social responsibility is a demonstration of their commitment to promoting community health and wellbeing.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about malaria prevention and provide support to combat the disease in the Dansoman area.
Municipal Chief Executive of Ablekuma West Assembly, George Cyril Blay was grateful for the gesture and emphasized the importance of proper hygiene and the use of preventive measures to reduce the spread of the disease.
Ablekum West Happened to be one of the hot spots for this new variant of mosquitoes. I believe Killit is coming in for us to help,” he said.
Some of the recipients of the insecticide product were elated.
“These items will help me in protecting myself against mosquitoes and malaria,” a beneficiary said.
The zero malaria initiative is a step in the right direction towards eliminating malaria in the Dansoman community, and it is hoped that it will serve as a model for other communities to follow.
