2022 WASSCE: KUMASI MAYOR TOURS EXAMINATION CENTERS IN KUMASI

Hon Samuel Pyne, the mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, together with the Metro Education Director Mr David Oppong had today 5th September 2022 visited WASSCE centres within the Kumasi Metropolis to monitor the ongoing exams.

Some of the schools visited are Saint Hubert Seminary Senior High School, Islamic Senior High School, Asanteman Senior High School and Serwaa Nyarko Girls Senior High School.

Addressing the Media at the end of the tour, Hon Samuel Pyne expressed his satisfaction with the smooth and calm running of the exams urged the students to desist from engaging themselves in examination malpractice and keep revising their notes to give out their best.He added that education they say is a key to success so with determination, perseverance and hardwork u will get closer to the sky.

He excavated that the students should not think of vandalising school properties as it mostly happens after last paper in schools and I want to make it clear to you that “if anything like that happens students will bear cost however the security is very alert to monitor” the movement of every single student.

At the end of the visit, it was disclosed that, there are 6730 male candidates, 6367 female giving a total number of 12797 writing the exams.

Out of the total number, there was one pregnant candidate and a nursing mother partaking in the exams.

On his part, Mr David Oppong, the Metro Education Director also expressed satisfaction in the process so far and urged school authorities not to stop pregnant and nursing candidates from writing the exams.

In conclusion, he appealed to invigilators to be vigilant in carrying out their duty to avoid any form of indiscipline act.
