Ghanaian rapper Lousika has been enstooled Queenmother of Manso Nkwanta in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region. The business woman cum musician and a mother of two succeeds her grandmother, the late Omanhemaa of Manso Nkwanta, Nana Nyarko Aboraa II, under the stool name of Nana Akua Nyarko Aboraa Sika.

The late Paramount Queenmother, Nana Nyarko II, passed away over a year ago, after more than four decades on the stool. Nana Akua Aboraa Sika’s musical career as a rapper suffered a nosedive when she got married to a Kumasi businessman some years ago until she was enthroned Queenmother at a coronation at Manso Nkwanta last week Monday.

The rapper is famous for songs like ‘Hands Up’, ‘Dedeede’ and ‘Opampam’, in which she featured Shatta Wale.

Present at her coronation were Otumfuo’s Mamensenhene, Barima Osei Kwadwo, the Paramount Chief and Queenmother of Kumawu Traditional Area, Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua and Nana Serwaa Amponsah, Ejisumanhene and Ejisumanhemaa, Nana Afrane Okese and Nana Yaa Asantewaa III, Nana Serwaa Nyarko, Offinsomanhemaa, members of

Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council, the royal family and residents of Manso Nkwanta.

The Paramount Chief of Manso Nkwanta Traditional Area, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah, called on the royal family, queenmothers and the entire people of the traditional area to rally behind their new Queenmother.

The three Paramount Queenmothers, who graced the ceremony, advised the new Queenmother to be submissive, humble and respectful to her Chief, the elders and her subjects.

They urged her to serve diligently and with integrity, and also learn the customs quickly to make a mark as a good Queenmother.

Nana Akua Sika expressed appreciation to Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah for her choice and support, and thanked her family, members of the Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council and the people in the area for accepting her selection to succeed her predecessor, Nana Nyarko II.
