Young Christian Workers of St. Joseph Catholic Church Make End-of-Year Donations to the Aged in Niiboiman, Lapaz New Market

As the year came to an end, the Young Christian Workers of St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Boy Town, Niiboiman, demonstrated compassion and solidarity by making end-of-year donations to the aged within the Niiboiman and Lapaz New Market communities.

Despite facing financial limitations, the youth group remained determined to extend support to elderly residents, believing that charity should be guided by love and commitment rather than the volume of resources available. Pooling their modest contributions together, the Young Christian Workers organized a meaningful outreach aimed at bringing relief and encouragement to the aged.
Speaking to The Telegraph Online during the presentation, the President of the Young Christian Workers, Mr. Ernest Holiday, acknowledged that funds raised for the exercise fell short of expectations but stressed that the group was not discouraged.

“Even a small act can make a big difference,” Mr. Holiday said. “We may not have enough to cover everything, but we believe that what truly matters is putting smiles on the faces of those who need care and attention the most.”
The donations, presented during a brief ceremony held at the church hall, included food parcels, blankets and other essential items. The occasion was also used to remind parishioners and community members of the importance of caring for the elderly, especially during the festive season when many seniors may feel neglected or lonely.

In their remarks, the Young Christian Workers emphasized that charity is not measured by the size of the gift but by the willingness to give selflessly. They noted that the aged in society have made immense sacrifices over the years and deserve continuous love, respect and support.
The group expressed hope that their initiative would inspire individuals, corporate bodies and benevolent organizations to support similar humanitarian efforts. They also appealed for sponsorship and partnerships to enable them to expand the scope of the outreach in future editions.

Looking ahead, Mr. Ernest Holiday indicated that plans are underway to make the third edition of the charity exercise bigger and more impactful, should adequate support be received.
The end-of-year donation exercise once again highlighted how unity, dedication and compassion among young people can positively transform lives, reaffirming the belief that even with limited resources, meaningful change is possible when hearts are committed to service.
