Yonsohene Baffour Oduro Boahen Praises Omene Bour Nana Inter Primary School Super Cup for Transforming Youth Sports

The Chief of Yonso, Baffour Oduro Boahen, has highly commended the organizers of the Omene Bour Nana Inter Primary School Super Cup, describing the tournament as a transformative initiative that is shaping the future of young footballers and strengthening unity within the Yonso community. He made these remarks during the grand finale of the 2025 edition held at Yonso, which brought together pupils, teachers, parents, and community leaders in a vibrant display of sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
Baffour Oduro Boahen expressed deep appreciation to the founder of the tournament, Elder Emmanuel Osei Tawia, popularly known as Omene Bour, for his vision and commitment to creating a platform that allows young pupils to discover and develop their talents in a supportive environment. The chief noted that the Super Cup has not only boosted the sporting abilities of the children but has also instilled discipline, teamwork, confidence, and a strong sense of purpose among participants.

He emphasized that youth sports must be complemented with strong academic performance, adding that tournaments of this nature offer children valuable life lessons that extend beyond the classroom. This year’s tournament featured Yonso M/A Primary, Yonso Islamic Primary, and Yonso United Primary, who competed fiercely for the coveted trophy. The atmosphere was electric as Yonso M/A Primary displayed remarkable skill and determination to emerge champions. Their victory earned them a cash prize of GHS 1,000, a trophy, and the Man of the Match Award, which came with a full educational scholarship from primary school to Senior High School. The chief described this gesture as a powerful motivation for pupils to take both their studies and sports seriously.

Community members who witnessed the event echoed the chief’s sentiments, noting that the initiative has significantly promoted unity, discipline, and talent development among schoolchildren.
