Yaw Boadi Assembly Member Commends President for Allowance, Teacher Housing Initiative

The Assembly Member for Yaw Boadi Electoral Area in the Ahafo Ano South-East District, Hon. Dawuda Usif, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for his decision to provide assembly members with a modest allowance to support their work. He described the move as a significant step towards strengthening local governance and enhancing grassroots development.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sompa FM’s Bawah Baidoo, Hon. Usif expressed his gratitude for the initiative, which he believes will empower assembly members to perform their duties more effectively. According to him, the role of assembly members is crucial in driving development at the local level, and the allowance package will serve as a motivation to work harder for their communities.

“The President’s intervention is a demonstration of his commitment to improving the welfare of assembly members. This support will go a long way in ensuring that we can execute our responsibilities efficiently and bring more development to our people,” he stated.

Hon. Usif also commended the President’s announcement during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) regarding the construction of teacher accommodations in areas where new schools are being built. He noted that the lack of housing for teachers has been a major challenge in rural communities, leading to a shortage of qualified educators.

“This initiative is a game-changer
